[Thailand] Third Thai Bird Flu Outbreak Of 2007

Thailand's third bird flu outbreak this year has been confirmed by the Livestock Development Department. Livestock chief Pirom Srichan said on Thursday that his staff were alerted to the mysterious deaths of six chickens belonging to a villager in Samko district last week. The flock were culled and samples collected for laboratory tests. The tests showed that the animals were infected with the H5N1 bird flu virus, said Mr Pirom. "The area has been disinfected and put under animal disease surveillance," he said.
