The Hawai'i State Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting people and organizations who wish to donate to the relief effort.

The Red Cross emphasizes that cash is preferred over in-kind donations so that relief items can be purchased in the affected regions, the organization said in a written statement. This helps reduce shipping costs and ensures "culturally appropriate" items are used. Read More
